Dubai Mall – Dinosaur Experience
Project Background
I was engaged to help put a presentation together suggesting ideas on improving Dubai Mall Dinosaur attraction. I worked with my client crafting ideas using latest technologies such as Interactive 3D Projection Mapping, Augmented Reality and Kinect Motion Technology. The challenge was to attract, engage and interact with visitors.
Microsoft Kinect Technology
The experience suggested use of Microsoft Kinect technology, where visitors standing on key hot spots could take control of the jungle trees and foliage, making it sway and move as if they were the wind.
Users could take control of the Pterodactyls flying high above. Using their arms, they could change it’s direction of flight.
Users could take control of the clouds above, control the speed of movement, gesturing left or right faster to create a stormy effect
Augmented Reality
The experience suggested use of Augmented Reality. Where user could download DMDino App to their own smart phone and take a look at the skeleton to see her come to life!
Visitors could take photos of the dinosaurs, name them correctly and win prizes!
Visitors could capture fun pictures of friends at the exhibit and instantly share on social media channels.
Games
The experience also included engaging and fun games such as Dinosaur Excavation, Build the Skeleton and Protect the Dinosaur from Meteorites.
